Making New Friends

Looking upon this royal which was now among them at their feet on top of a dark horse and Hawk would be climbing on his own as well as others, but he knew that he would be running beside them as for the other two they would be on their own steeds as it where he was the only one who volunteered on walking or running for he had the stamina and agility to do so. In respect to the prince he raised his head showing his neck which was and has always been a sign of respect from him.

leveling his head he did a nod as the other two saddled themselves and he got ready for the long trip even though there would be the possibility of setting camp, but either way he was fine with it however he wondered what the dwarves would think of him would they be like the humans or would they have a different approach to his kind which are the Dark Kin. The sound of the horses' hooves hit the earth and left on the beginning of their journey up north to the caves with wonder in everyone's eyes of their allies which they where going to visit and partake of the cave dwellers culture.

He saw the respect in which the others gave him even the unique way in which the man which his father had been talking about to him this one would be a mystery to him for Jace hadn't been around any other race, but his own still as Hawk started up his horse and the others left the earth to their saddles and as well started off he put a mellow click with his tongue followed with a light tap on the horses' flanks as he started as well.

Still wondering if this other guy would be able to keep up with them for the prince hadn't seen what the other races where capable of nor what unique gifts of each of them. That was until he saw the man start to run with lengthy strides and with a special speed to him keeping up with the horses in which they where on top of.

As they traveled the whole day and made up a third of the way there. When night hit and Hawk stopped and setup camp for the night, once the tents where pitched Hawk started a campfire the female warrior that came with him came back with a deer for the dinner. In which Hawk began to clean it and get it ready for cooking while he was doing that the gal started to sing a merry tone.
She had a great voice that everyone would enjoy if she was not a soldier she could be a performer, but Hawk was glad to have her there for she was able to make the camp more enjoyable. While the food cooked hawk went to his saddlebag and pulled out his flask and took a few swigs then put it back.

Not feeling that they had at all gotten close enough to get starting he did however know that only he himself would be able to lead them through the darkness unless they where wanting to give light to the darkness with their own light. However feeling a little successful for their journey. For they weren't cold heartless things and the horses wanted to rest as well as the humans and Hawk himself.

Standing in the light of the fire he helped in making it go a little longer in which letting the wood lengthen longer than expected seeing the girl leave and return with food and started up a chord of beautiful song gave him the opportunity to go off being in what he was and getting a bite for himself knowing that he would most definitely be back for everything else for he was still crammed with energy especially cause of the night which it gives off on its own. His eyes darted around seeing that the other two where talking among themselves and that Hawk and the Prince where occupied as well with their thoughts or anything else and that was when he left within leaving he started to change and was now a humanoid wolf romping in the woods.

Seeing that the light of the world was going down in which noticing that it was nearly time to stop for the night and set camp in which they did everyone stopping in a particular spot that was a clear spot with trees around it a good clearing for making camp as looking at everything else hoping that there wasn't any other surprises in which he dismounted as it was clear enough not seeing anything wrong he sat up his own spot pitching the tent for even though he was royalty he didn't much like being treated like one being waited on hand and foot.

After finally making sure everything was secure he sat on the earth as the tiny blades crumbled under his weight pulling out a scroll which had some writing for he had brought some things in which to read over and to continue his studies for looks was more for the princesses then the prince at least those who didn't want to be a weak link. Keeping his eyes on the scroll he didn't notice that someone was missing until taking a moment and saw that the one with the dark hair was gone which he looked to Hawk for some kind of explaination if he had one for Hawk was the one in charge and Jace was mostly there to pass on a message as well as to make sure no laws where broken or bent while in the dwarfs' territory.

Once Hawk looked at the prince and answered "Probably getting some food for himself!" when the food was done he cut it up and dished it out to everyone. Then took a peace for himself in which with that he began to eat it was good although Hawk was always surprised at himself when he cooked. His wife usually did all the cooking, but he wasn't bad at it himself he had brought salts and other seasonings all with him so the food wouldn't be bland.

After dinner and when Lesly was done with the songs Hawk got up and went to bed not waiting for Axle to come back and not caring when he did for he was leaving at first light wither he was there or not, even though he had been trusted in going with the group there was no room for lagging around in one spot they needed to get to their destination sooner rather than later.

Seeing through the dark with eyes of silver and fur of black as he rummaged around the surrounding area on his own two legs with a look of a wolf about him he searched for something which to get his serrated jaws on. His black moist nose picked up several different scents thinking that it was food it made his brain go crazy until the pointed ears caught their familiar voices. It was the troop, everyone who was on this journey as he now knew of that scent of being friends and not wanting to get close even though he could handle his own brain. Still he wanted to find something to maul and digest in to his own body.

So within leaving that direction behind he went in search of something possibly one of those animals of the wood hopefully something filling. As his nose kept a keen eye on things and his ears where picking up any and all noises and his eyes, well was seeing in black and white. Finally he saw something as hard hooves clicking on the earth it was a deer it seemed to of gotten lost from its own herd it seemed that it was a bad thing for it, but a perfect thing for him.

Gable seemed to not even mind that Axle was there or not for it cause he wouldn't mind getting away for a little bit from the crowd, but he didn't know the place nor could see in the dark. So he just took out a pipe and in swiping a burning piece of wood started the stale tobacco in it taking a nice long drag on it. The food had tasted rather fine and was cooked matterbly well, but now it was just time to whine down for the night. While the girl with the white stripe in her hair ate in silence not saying much for was weary with traveling. In which she afterwards just looked into the fire itself loosing herself to the firelight being there and not there at the same time for she was giving enlightenment to her own being at that precise moment.

*(I'm gonna be taking over the role of the prince so Ax can do his dwarf king!

Now knowing that this man in which his father had spoken of was a loner as you would say it was still itching at him for it didn't take long for one to catch something to eat does it? Well anyways as he nodded to Hawk's response to his question about Axle going to get something to eat for himself. Jace went back to looking over his studies although at that moment it was on a language which was important to learn for it was dwarvish in fact he had brought many things on them so to be able to know of their customs.

the night got late and the fire was still going until the food was gone and his belly was full it was possibly time to turn in for the night for they needed a early start to be able to reach the entrance to the mines. Seeing that Axle wasn't back yet and not taking much presence to it he went into the tent and started to drift into sleep. Hoping that the others would take his lead soon and drift into slumber as silent snores started to come from his tent.

in the morning Hawk made a quick breakfast and saddle up the horse his two men did the same thing. Which after that he went over to his tent and started to take it down when his men came to do the same. By the time that everyone else was up Hawk and his men where already packed and ready to move on, but they waited as the Prince and Axle's men where done and ready before they would leave and move on. It didn't take long till they continued on the way, but soon he stopped for someone was on the road up ahead of them. Hawk drew his sword for this person was masking his presence so he knew he wasn't human.

Sabrina looked into the fire as she was starting to feel a little drowsy in which everyone else even Gable had went to head for the night, but it was her duty to take that first shift since Axle wasn't there yet and she had volunteered to take the first shift for she was a night owl you could say. However it was about the end of her shift when she started to hear things moving outside the perimeter of the camp which made her want to check the perimeter walking around the camp giving her legs a good stretch looking into the darkness and then as she got to the originating portion when she finally heard a twig snap which caught her attention grabbing at her sword ready to defend the camp. when she saw a familiar face, but knowing of the basics she awaited till this guy passed.

"Stop who goes there announce yourself!"

As she did this he did answer himself not after a hearty laugh in his throat as there was some blood on him it wasn't his, but the deer's, but he had to give it to her making the camp safe and secure on her own watch knowing that she wouldn't put down her guard until he announced himself.

"I applaude you Sabrina that you have kept your shift safe and true I believe you have really pulled your weight for the night. Although it is I Axle and I believe you are at the end of your shift I will take the rest of the night as you get some rest yourself!"

With that she did understand that it was him as he came into the firelight which she dropped her guard finally and within nodding which became a yawn and with that she turned in for the night. As he took over the turn making routes around the camp in keeping it safe that was until he finally turned it in for the next person who would be taking the last shift in which he slept peacefully and soundly that was until he heard noise outside his tent which awoke him pretty easily it didn't take him long to take down the tent and get everything ready as he grabbed a little bit of a morning meal and was now ready. Which was followed by Gable and then finally Sabrina as now everyone was done and they where on the road to their destination.

Walking alongside everyone while they where on the horses he smelt something different and coming up in which not to long afterwards he saw what it was a stranger who was in the middle of the road disguising its features, but he could tell that this one was of a different race and not human.

Gable pulled back slightly on the reins in stopping his Bay Pinto from bumping into the others for it being a small road well either way it had to be single-file as it where which behind him Sabrina on her dark thoroughbred stopped in its tracks as well as the creaking of leather shifting and the horses awaited to see of what was going to happen or what would transpire. While Axle stood in the front with Hawk ready to see and possibly if it came to it help defend the frontline.

Smelling the breakfast outside his tent and the sound of people moving around awoke Jace from his sleep even though he had been up a little later going over some last minute orders of state as it where. Still being awoken by the smell and sounds arose him from the sleep in which he took no time in getting ready in which garbing himself in his armor which he had disguarded when going to sleep in which now the tent was down and the horse was saddled everything was ready and he wanting to have a bite while on the road it not being that much just a piece of soft cheese and a pastry. While on the road Jace taking no time to eat in peace while guiding his trusty and longtime friend of a steed riding alongside Hawk or at times right behind him that was until the prince had finished and they ran into someone blocking the road that was disguised for some kind of reason which he had no knowledge of why it was so unless it was someone who didn't want to be figured out or a traitor from the other side.
